Welcome to Gontobbo ("we," "our," or "us"). Gontobbo is a real-time ride-sharing, freight, parcel delivery, and rental booking platform. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "Gontobbo Rider App") and our website (https://gontobbo.org).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Gontobbo Rider App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this policy.

We collect information to provide, improve, and secure our ride-sharing and delivery services. The types of data we collect include:

a. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account & Profile Data: Name, phone number, email address, profile photo, gender, and language preferences created during registration.
  • Payment & Transaction Information: Payment method selections (Cash, Digital Wallet), trip receipts, transaction amounts, and booking history.
  • Support & Communications: Messages, feedback, support ticket details, and inquiries submitted to our customer service team.

b. Information Automatically Collected

  • Location Data (Precise GPS): We collect precise real-time location data from your mobile device when the Gontobbo app is running in the foreground or background during active trip searches and active rides. This is essential for pickup location pinpointing, route optimization, driver matching, and safety tracking.
  • Device & Usage Data: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens, and app performance logs.
  • System Photo Picker Access: If you upload a profile photo or attach image documents for support, we use the native Android Photo Picker or system picker, ensuring we do not request or store broad media or photo library storage permissions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following business purposes:

  • Core Service Fulfillment: To connect riders with nearby available drivers, calculate fares, provide turn-by-turn routing, and manage trip bookings.
  • Real-Time Tracking & Safety: To display live driver arrival on the map and share ride status with assigned drivers.
  • Notifications & Communications: To send SMS verification OTPs, trip status notifications, booking updates, and driver arrival alerts via Firebase Push Notifications.
  • Customer Support: To troubleshoot issues, respond to tickets, and resolve fare or trip disputes.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: To prevent illegal activity, verify user authenticity, enforce terms of service, and maintain platform security.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with third parties under the following strict conditions:

  • With Assigned Drivers: When you request a ride, your pickup location, dropoff destination, first name, and phone number are shared with your assigned driver to complete the ride.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We use trusted third-party service providers, including:
    • Google Maps Platform: For map rendering, geocoding, and distance calculations.
    • Firebase (Google): For cloud messaging push notifications and app performance diagnostics.
    • SMS Gateways: For sending OTP verification codes.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by applicable laws, court orders, or government regulations, or to protect the safety and rights of Gontobbo, our users, or the public.

4. Location Data Disclosure

Gontobbo collects location data to enable pickup driver matching, route calculation, and real-time trip tracking even when the app is minimized during an active ride. Location data is strictly used for trip execution and safety and is never sold to third parties.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to fulfill our service obligations and comply with legal requirements.

How to Delete Your Account and Data:

You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:

  • In the Gontobbo Rider App, navigate to Profile Settings > Delete Account.
  • Alternatively, submit an account deletion request by emailing support@gontobbo.org with your registered phone number and email address. Upon verification, your account and associated personal data will be permanently purged within 30 days.

6. Security of Your Data

We implement industry-standard encryption, SSL HTTPS protocols, and access control measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

7. Children's Privacy

Gontobbo services are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
